Imbert is a municipality in the Dominican Republic , which is situated in the province of Puerto Plata .
In the administration of President Ulises Heureaux , when the Central Dominican Railroad was inaugurated, a station was established on the edge of a small town, right in the center of the province. This station -called Villa Imbert- had Adolfo Lithgow as its first manager. Its foundation had the objective of facilitating agricultural and commercial exchange. Due to the importance of this construction, many people from Puerto Plata and other towns began to arrive and gradually settled down, giving rise to the formation of a town that would gain relevance later on.
In 1898 a Catholic temple, which has now disappeared, was built. This consists of various communities which stand out for the good warmth of its inhabitants
