San Felipe de Puerto Plata, located between Loma Isabel de Torres and the Atlantic Ocean.

On January 11, 1493, Christopher Columbus arrived at what is now known as the Bay of Puerto Plata. Since then Puerto Plata was a strategic and very important place thanks to its port, through which all the agricultural products that were acquired from the fertile lands of the north of the Dominican Republic were shipped.
