Cabarete is a municipal district of the Municipality of Sosúa in the province of Puerto Plata, in the Dominican Republic. Cabarete is located about 15 minutes by road east of Sosúa, on the North Coast.

It is one of the most important places in the region and the world for sailing, water sports and activities; ideal for surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing and Stand-Up Paddle Boarding (SUP).

This beach town, located between its bay and lagoon, is very popular for lovers of adventure, fun and gastronomy.

It’s known for a colorful atmosphere and a mix of national folklore, international tourism, wind and sailing water sports, and adventure tourism.

Cabarete nights are magical. It has a wide variety of restaurants that turn into disco bars after dinner hours where you can dance and enjoy the best nightlife on the entire north coast.

Cabarete is the scene of the great international professional competitions for many water sports. Encuentro Beach, about 3 miles west, is one of the most popular surfing beaches in the Caribbean region.

Cabarete counts with attractions like the landscape of its mountains, its two lagoons and El Choco National Park, renowned for its caves and its hamlet of descendants of free blacks brought from the United States in the last century.
